Its for her science project. Does anyone know a site where I can find plans on how to make one?
I swear I remember my teacher making one out of paper and a tea candle when I was in elementary school. Anyone know?

tea candle and a plastic bag :dabs:

take a plastic bag, tie it up to a candle holder, light candle and put in candle holder, hold up bag until it inflates.
Not a hard concept.
Maybe you can find something in
www.howstuffworks.com ???
Tried that, just set the bag on fire..:blushing:Quote:

I'd agree, except for the lighter gas thing (WELL DANGEROUS!!) :frusty:Quote:

Just blow up a balloon, cover in papier mache from tissue paper, then pop the balloon, and cut a hole in the bottom.
Use some thin wire to fashion a cradle in which you can support a tea-light at the bottom, under the hole.
Attach the two, light the candle, and hey presto, a hot air balloon. If it's light enough, the heat from the tea-light should be enough for it to fly...? :ermm:
