Can anyone help me with my portfowarding?
I'm seeding at PP right now with 40 kb/s which is fine, but I'm not even connectable / port forwarded.
I've followed the guides for my router at portfoward.com but they're still not fowarded for some reason. If anyone wants to help me I'll tell them step by step what I did.
Thanks. I'd really appreciate it so I can download / upload faster.
Re: Can anyone help me with my portfowarding?
Make sure u read the FAQ on the torrent site in question and make sure ur using a good port and not one thats blacklisted, then when ur happy ur using a good port, close and restart ur client..and log out of ur site and back in again and hopefully u'll be connectable.
I mean make sure ur using a good port in ur client as in utorrent ect...
Re: Can anyone help me with my portfowarding?
What router do you have?
What bt client are you using?
This info is necessary to even begin to try and help you also since you already tried to forward them your self maybe post the link to the guide you used would be of help and anymore info you feel is relevent.
Re: Can anyone help me with my portfowarding?
Linksys WRT54GS
Yeah I heard it had a lot of problems with port forwarding so I upgraded the firmware.
And I'm using Utorrent. Used to use Azureus but a lot of trackers banned it.
Re: Can anyone help me with my portfowarding?
Ok did you setup a static IP address by following this guide-> http://www.portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm after you chose what ports you wanted to forward in utorrent.
The portforward guide you need to follow is at the link below.
http://www.portforward.com/english/r...S/Utorrent.htm
do that and if you get stuck at a certain point of the guide just come back and post the problem you are having or a question that might help us clear up any confusion you might be having with the process.
And like always the more info provided of the problem you are having the better someone here could help you.
Re: Can anyone help me with my portfowarding?
I'm a bit of a newb at this prt forwarding stuff, but I struggled for ages with all the guides until I finally turned UPnP on, on both the Router and uTorrent and woohoo! finally connected!
may be worth a go
Re: Can anyone help me with my portfowarding?
I juist came across this link over at the utorrent webpage you might want to take a look and see if that would help your situation any.

Utorrtent site wrote:
The following note does NOT apply to WRT54G/GS v5 and up! Use the latest official firmware (1.00.9+) with those, they do not suffer from this specific problem (though they do suffer from different problems).
so if you have that firmware it probably will be of no help but hey you never know. ;)
Re: Can anyone help me with my portfowarding?
I did download the new firmware / fix
And so if I enable UpNP mapping, will everything be fixed? Do I still need to set up a static IP?
Re: Can anyone help me with my portfowarding?
are you using utorrent? click options -click speed guide -click test port...
are you blocked? could be firewall...
disable firewall and test again.
