I need a tool that boots up in dos and allows me to move over a few specific files from one partition to the other. I already have 2 partions.. need to finish the backup and xp refuses to boot.

When using BartPE you should know that...
3. It is not legal to use a BartPE CD and an installed Windows XP/2003 both at the same time under the same Windows XP/2003 EULA....

Ya but who cares?
this is a filesharing website...the majority of us are already running illegal pirated (downloaded) versions of XP anyway.
yes, you can run it. If you have "CD Booting" enabled in your BIOS..the CD shall successfully boot, then it acts as an emulated boot sector and runs Windows P.E. with ease! The O/S is very barebone with nothing but a "right-click" style start menu, but theres tons of helpful apps you can run to copy files from one partition to another FAT32 or NTFS! You open it's explorer software and just drag-n-drop...copy-n-paste...etc from there. No comparison to DOS, this is the best way to save files from a currupt windows system. Bart P.E. has started an amazing project here, many companies are blood thirsty for a simple method to save data from currupt systems.Quote:
