Busy i accept your point about governmental waste, something that goes on worldwide. And i take into account you don't want to pay for such a scheme even though you yourself would ultimatly benefit. I also fully understand you not wanting to pay tax, nobody does  We could get the money from other places but as to where that would be would be argued forever. If we took just one weeks spending on weapons etc. we could have the thing we fear the most in the US.. total free healthcare at delivery point  (it's already been paid for so it's not free, but you wouldn't need to buy insurance so you would save)
We in the US probably hate tax more than anywhere else in the world and we are taxed fairly lightly compared to other developed countries. Where we lose out is that we instead rely on private commerce to cover us for many things and are therefore at the mercy of the need for profit. So ultimately we pay more. I have lived in a few different countries so i am basing my comparisons from personal experience rather than official statistics.
we have a serious problem here with something in the region of 6 million US citizens without medical insurance so as you rightly pointed out the people in DC need to get off their gravey train soaked butts and do something. My suggestion was just something to consider.
off topic ..... I watch john Q last night, I know a work of fiction but disturbingly close to a possible reality.
i wish you good health (stay away from bank robberies  )
I never said I don't want to pay taxes.
