strange .mkv playback issues

over the past couple of weeks I have downloaded some anime in .mkv format. When I play them in MPC (Media Player Classic) they are upside down and split into 2-4 smaller windows. Any advice on how to fix this or even why it's doing it would be greatly appreciated.
There is a screen shot of the problem attached.
The file plays fine besides this.
