IRC is real easy - go to ircspy.com and look at their straight-froward guides. Then when you're up and running it's merely a matter of using ircspy to search for files and clicking on the links etc. good luck...
BTW there are bots you can use to search the servers - but mostly they aren;t allowed and will get you banned.
