I just ran the Google Toolbar through a lot of the tests at http://www.popuptest.com/ and found it failed a significant number. Now what is the best pop-up blocker but doesn't stop me from opening links that create new windows when clicking on them, as Outpost Firewall does this (http://www.popuptest.com/goodpopups.html).
Cheers

Depends if you want a free one or one you have to purchase...for the free one i suggest using Mozilla Firefox browser...it has it built in to it...if you are using IE6 then Popup Cop is your best choice B)

I'm using Mozilla & Google Toolbar for IE and BOTH worked perfectly.
No idea why yours didn't work <_<

Have you even used the tests? Anyway, that Popup Cop seems pretty tacky so I downloaded Popup XP, pretty cool and works like a charm.

Popup Cop tacky....i think you should try it first and you will see how wrong you are....just a side note about Popup XP...it is not rated that highly...but to each their own B) (reviews of Popup Cop below)

Came through :
-Sticky
-Mouseover
-4/4 "good" pop-ups
--> Firefox
-Multi test #2
-Come & go
-Floating
-Full-screen
-Modeless
-Drop-down
-Floating banner
-1/4 "good" pop-ups
-->IE6 with pop-up blocker
Now I know why I switched...

When I use Opera NA (builtin), FireFox NA (builtin) but for IE I use PopThis! free edition. Btw I use those browsers in that order this amount 90-95%, 5-8% & 2%.

Given the nature of the site and the area of this particular discussion topic, I would have to suggest that using "freeware" not be a huge concern. There is a plethora of firewall softwares available. Many of the better ones contain pop-up and spam filters built directly into them. You can search the forums for the numerous threads of users stating their own preferences in which they choose to protect their systems.
Kazaa/eDonkey/Bitorrent= huge selection at low, low prices. :P

i used the google bar and it worked perfectly to block those pop ups.
i have 1034 blocked popups so far
-
Ad Muncher Does block all the pop ups and other things but lets all the "good" pop ups through on http://www.popuptest.com/. Can someone find me something that beats that. ;) :lol: :D :P
And why is it that it is not mention on Popuptest.com's Download Popup Blockers page is really a mystery to me. :ph34r:
