Me and a friend went to a thrift shop yesterday and I found a brand new never been opened copy of Half-life for $2. (still in the box saran wrap and everything, so i bought it for the small ass price). Well my friend james said the Cdkey can be used to run any of the other Counter Strike games as well. Is this true? I'm not sure, but i think i also heard him say something about checking if the cdkey worked on they're official support site, and they'll let me download a full copy of the game that way. If not, i can allways get it off suprnova instead though. I cant seem to find a place to log-in to verify on the official half-life support page if the cdkey works though.

Download the full Steam installer, and put your CDkey into that. It basically gets you every Valve supported mod for HL available.

I have CS 1.5 and using a Half Life CD key for it and it works great B)

sweet, they even let you download the whole offline version of the game as well. Heh $2 for $100 worth of software.
