hi just one question , not to sure if its in the right place but here goes anyway :
is it possible for me as a privat person to stream something into the internet using winamp ?
i would like to mix some music and while doing so stream it live into the internet.
is this possible .i have dsl 768 down and 150 up . thnkx in advance :)
Can you listen to streams with just Winamp? Yes
Can you stream yourself with just Winamp? No
You'd need the Shoutcast plug-in to stream with Winamp. Or you could use another program that has internet broadcasting intergrated, IS an internet broadcasting program or has the option in a plug-in (JetAudio, SAM2, QCD respectively)
BTW If you want a server to broadcast with, check out The Lounge - KLB's no-cost community internet radio station :D
ok i had a look at shoutcast but it seems i need a server to stream if i read rightly ,gettin the plugins would be no prob though . ok gonna check the lounge now thnkx for the help :D
u could set up your own server on ur computer. if ur only going to have a few listeners
thats true but ive been reading abot the lounge radio and that seems quit neat :D might give that a go when i get my turntables set up with my pc :)
you'll prob get quite a fe listeners with that, may be better having a go with a few of your mates with your own server.???

there is also IceCast/OddCast streaming tools (by the makers of the now defunct kazaa-winamp plugin)
