Ever go to Bonnaroo by any chance?
Re: Jambands, Live Bands, Festival Scene, Experimental
widespread panic, string cheese incident, keller williams, o.a.r. (kinda sold out now i think tho), galactic, xavier rudd (fucking awesome), moe., yonder mountain string band, a.l.o., toothpick.
those are some of the main ones i know of. my roommate and stoner festival buddies are waaaay into this shit, so i end up listening to it quite often. not my favorite type of music, but its got a time and place (aka on drugs).
bonnaroo is pretty sweet. i've never gone, but my buddy did and has a couple of dvds from the past years. up north we have 10k Lakes Fest in minnesota which is just like any other big fest: good vibes and LOTS of drugs. :D
Re: Jambands, Live Bands, Festival Scene, Experimental
I'm actually torn between going to Bonnaroo and 10klf this year. So far 10klf doesn't have the greatest line up (still good but can only go to 1 festival this year). I must say I'm pretty excited about Tool at Bonnaroo. Still Bonnaroo has changed. They bring in a HUGE variety of music wich is awesome, but at the same time they are attracting a different type of crowd with that music. This in turn changes the vibe of the festival. It used to be a lot more open and free spirited. Now that is still there, but there is also a lot more people trying to run scams and rob you (campsite was robbed last year).
Re: Jambands, Live Bands, Festival Scene, Experimental
i can understand why more and more people are going. i'm sure the promoters see more money with more popular bands (like tool, which would be amazing). more fans and people in general = more $$$. it's also a pretty crazy how much illegal stuff goes on there and is just left alone. it's a pretty popular destination for anyone who likes partying and/or drugs in general. i'm gonna try to go to 10k this year.
