It's a test of character. Will he or won't he? Let's profile him.
More likely it's to do with digital signing or fecked updating software. Microsoft's ActiveX components, in this regard, should be viewed with much skepticism .
I NEVER download driver updates from Windows Update....
I've seen bad things happen too many times. Get em from the manufacturer.
Hell, I nev3r download driver updates unless it will fix an issue I'm having, or add some functionality that I want.
yea, i was stupid and installed it. wasn't bad, but it's not the best driver. get it from nVidia.
Yes, if you have drivers installed that aren't Microsoft certified, you will get those updates listed. Just don't download them.

its not a bad a before when a few months ago it was telling to get drivers from 2001
You could download and install them and then update your drivers to the latest ones available elsewhere. Only do this if it really bothers you to see that driver listed at Microsoft Update. I have done this once and it didn't reappear after I updated to the latest ones.
well, if it REALLY bothers you, look on the Windows Update page and Personalize Windows Update, and hide that driver update.
You'll never see it again.
