i think i found a way to stop that file from appearing on the desktop each time KLR is started. right click on the desktop icon for KLR, go to properties. in the "start in" box, type "C:\Program Files\Kazaa Lite Resurrection\". (if this is your default install location) click OK, and i believe you shouldnt see it anymore. lemme know if it works for everyone. so far, so good on my machine running xp pro.

It should work. It's a bug in KLR that this isn't set this way by default.

Any Idea what this file is for?
I use batch files to juggle different download ques.
Should i maintain 2 copys of this file or should there be just 1 left in the shared directory?

KLExtensions create that file to save locking options and password, it should be located in the Kazaa Lite instalation directory.
