A lot of people here split the monthly cost of Internet access in a similar manner... especially in areas where there's little competition and providers charge whatever they want.
Again when it comes to "Trustworthy", you personally can attest to that;)...
But really thinking about it, lets say you needed 4TB of storage?? How much do you charge for that??
Next question...For the cost of a 4TB external drive?? I'd rather give or lend or just purchase a 4TB drive for them and teach/help teach them how to backup or transfer what they want to store onto the drive...
And the biggest worry would be if the drive fails and i can't get there files back:yikes:.
Again Anon, just not my thing. If you were thinking of doing something like this, and wanted investors, let me know, i do know you are Trustworthy:)..
I remember having a conversations a while back with my son, and funny at that time he told me Amazon is getting big in setting up servers for storage, and it works good for them because they already have the structure to diversify into that. And prices will be really cheap..

I've just deleted a couple GB of IRC logs from 2005. Admittedly most was pre spam and announces.

Any ratings on IMDB should always be discounted. There have been more than a few reviews traced back to dubious ie inside sources, also idiots.

Man, that would have been prime archive.org material! Although considering your previous posts, I assume nothing you delete is truly gone until it's also killed in at least two offline backup systems, three cloud storage providers and a hard disk array buried in your backyard

I blame data caps and isolation. Now on unlimited, I always want to choke the pipe (nocontext)

Why can't you guys just spend your isolation time writing beat poetry like normal people?

Does anyone have Halal Snack Packs in their country? I've just discovered them. It's all the good things about a sleazy kebab but in a nice box. The local kebab store has many sizes. Largest being a 12" pizza box worth.

^^^ As much as sharing is caring, that custom google search I posted had everything I've searched for (within reason). It indexes many many sites. The pastebin of URLS's has since been deleted.
Found here back in the day: https://www.reddit.com/r/Piracy/wiki..._and_elearning
For requesting, Mobilism.org goes aiiight.

Re: Last one to post wins the internets
I only recently remembered I have an account and it has some 30 invites, so I thought why not :idunno:
I'll check out your Google CSE, thanks. The more sources, the better!

Re: Last one to post wins the internets
I may be late to the party, but today I came across this website:
https://www.abandonwaredos.com/
Tried to play Castle Wolfenstein (loved it on the C64; did not know there was an equivalent version for the PC prior to Wolfenstein 3D), but I guess my computer is too fast for the game to be playable. Can anyone point me towards a DOS emulator that lets me slow down the system to be on par with an early 90s PC?

DOSBox is the best of its kind. You can slow the emulation down by lowering the amount of cycles per second (and perhaps the processor type) until you find the sweet spot. Or perhaps running Mo'Slo from within the system, as it was done in the old days ;)
Let me know if you need anything else, because I love this abandonware stuff. I installed Windows 95 on DOSBox several times once just because I could, and still have the DOS boot floppy I made for gaming back when every byte of conventional memory counted :smilie4:
-
Re: Last one to post wins the internets
DOSBox is indeed the one I installed yesterday (not a lot of research; it was the first Google result. Well, that is pretty much the average amount of research I do). Looks like I'll need to start reading the instructions. :)
On a not entirely unrelated note, how the hell do I change the resolution for specific program windows? Ever since I upgraded to my current system (which apparently has a much more powerful graphics card and a higher screen resolution than my old one) there are a few programs where the font is so small that you can hardly read it anymore and it feels like when you want to move the cursor from one area of the screen to another, your mouse is covering marathon distances. Surely there must be a setting where you can specify that programs not auromatically making an adjustment can be run in a window with lower resolution so that everything is upscaled/bigger?

There is or was Cab, wish I knew it off the top of my head... but alas sadly the days of beta testing OS's (Win 95) for over a year escapes me and my command prompt overrides have disappeared with my memory. :(
(I had issues with "Another World"...luved that game slipin slidin shoe shit. The 25th or 50th Anniversary edition, gave me new pair of shoes!) :alien:
It can be done just prolly ask anon.

This is what you want.
https://www.techrepublic.com/blog/wi...g-dpi-scaling/
https://www.digitaltrends.com/comput...in-windows-10/
Note that some programs do not play nice with it and their text overflows outside the expected area, or is clipped. You can disable DPI scaling as a compatibility setting (properties panel) for those.
As for the mouse thing, just increase the sensitivity and make sure to check out https://donewmouseaccel.blogspot.com/, because that stupid acceleration effect becomes much more noticeable at higher speeds

I wonder, what did you do after that 32 TB leak of Windows builds and source code? :P
I was pretty excited when the Opera 12.15 source was leaked, but besides ports to queer Linux distributions and minor compatibility patches, no one has bothered to do anything significant with it (presumably due to legal risks). The greatest version of the greatest browser has simply been abandoned :(

Re: Last one to post wins the internets
Boring story - yesterday I swapped out my Moto G7 Power for the Moto G8 power, it's sick. I never buy flagship phones and have stuck with the Moto G series for years, specifically the Power version (Play version when Power didn't exist) for the monster battery life. The G8 is the first Power model that is above 720p, it feels like I'm staring at the future. Having a true HD resolution on a phone is something new to me as is Android 10. I can now see more detailed boobies on my phone.

That's probably why the battery lasts so long. A lot of these 4k phones only last a couple of hours. I use my galaxy s9 in 720p mostly, and it's still only lasts a few hours. Very annoying now that I live in a forest. :eyebrows:

"For earlier Windows systems, right-click on the application icon, such as via a shortcut on the desktop, and select Properties. Then, select the Compatibility tab. Under settings, click Change high DPI settings. Doing so opens a new window where you can check off the Override high DPI scaling behavior box. There are three options for this setting, Application, System, and System (Enhanced). "
That did the trick for me, at least for the two programs where it counts most. Thanks!

Why have you been exiled to the forest? Did they find out about the Boris Bike...
One thing I want to get working is transfering moviefilms off my phone onto ext storage. I've got an external 256GB nvme drive with a USB-C adaptor. I plug it into the phone, go into ES File Explorer and it sees the drive and i can browse it. I have uTorrent on the phone, I steal a 1.6GB film, go in to ES, find it in the internal download folder, I do the option to copy it then navigate to the ext nvme drive and paste it and every fucking time without fail it hangs on copying and never completes :dabs: I use that drive to plug in to my Pi to watch stuffs on my telly. If I can get this working I never have to use my laptop again.

Re: Last one to post wins the internets

Stallman would not approve :( Try Material Files and LibreTorrent, at least to see if the former can copy your stuff.
