You should get someone to help you setup an extra monitor or something at home.

She's an office worker so her place has set her up to wfh too. She's sat in t'other room with a laptop, monitor, special health and safety keyboard, mouse, mouse mat and wrist rest as well as her special chair her work had to ship to the flat. She's everything I've come to hate. That sort of spacker shit is reserved for 20 stone house wife HR nightmare people, she's child sized and mid 30s
How many fights have you seen thus far? I saw an Italian man in a makeshift hazmat suit punch out a Nigerian delivery man while queuing in the post office. I only had one person Infront of me before they slammed the shutters down now I'm gonna get bad feedback! :fist:
Hope she doesn't turn in to that which you despise. That would be no good at all.
I saw a mad woman attack the tesco security guard and spit in his face, because he asked her to stand in a certain spot. They then exchanged kicks, after which, she proclaimed she was pregnant.
Another mad woman, is going up and down the road, shouting about Jesus and trying to kiss people. I've hardly been out the house. I'm starting a new job next week, which should be fun. I'm sure I will see more crazies on my journey in.
I had decided to ride my bike in, as it seemed the most sensible thing, but someone stole it from my garden a few days ago, while I was at the shops. Now I'm down to my Boris bike, which is kind of suspicious to lock up outside my new work.
Watched that Parasite fillum. Brilliant.
You could tell work he's lent you the bike while he's in isolation? :idunno: what fucking pikey stole your bike! You can't even go anywhere on them atm! Fucking gypos!!
The gasman from the council came over, left the front door downstairs open for 5 minutes and it was gone. Probably one of his pikey mates. :eyebrows:
Was this gasman wearing a straw hat and green velvet waistcoat? :eyebrows:
I don't think that's allowed anymore.
I have to go out in the world tomorrow. :emo:
Fuck that, I haven't been out for a week, and I don't intend to go out ever again
I'm actually really enjoying the quarantine, I'm saving a fuck-ton of money on petrol, clothing and pointless leisure activities.. :smilie4:
If only my pension fund hadn't tanked, I'd be happy as!
I left the house today for the one thing worth risking the lives of myself and family for: pizza.
It was strange being out-- I literally wore gloves and a mask, thought endlessly about how many people touched the door handles, the counter, the pizza box, even wondered what my wife had touched prior to my driving of our vehicle... All the while those working were just going about their everyday jobs. Unprotected.
I know I'm justified in wearing the PPE because I have worked in pizza restaurants and regardless of emails from CEOs swearing to every god that has ever been worshiped regarding the 'NEW higher than our already exceptional cleaning standards' those employees didn't do *anything* extra. They just want to go home.
I have been spending most of my time getting all my emulators and arcade games working. Finally managed to get Initial D Zero working after much fiddling.
Does anyone know how India is coping with this isolation thing?
Having a really nice curry
If the comments I've seen on the Internet are true, and I don't see why they wouldn't be (it's a military computer network where no one would post inaccurate information), then they're likely learning to use indoor toilets?
Dear god I need a cheaper hobby.
Just bought 4x12TB WD externals that I'm going to shuck and throw in my NAS. That's only to backup all these random 2.5" externals. Hopefully I can find a dupecheck for Synology that checks crc and call it a day.
36TB usable is peasant change I know but it scares me about the future of my hoarding abilities. Especially knowing I'll have to 'upgrade' all the SD stuff one day.
it could be worse. I have an *8*-bay NAS... :)
I assume you are running PLEX on your Synology?

The shortage pandemic of TP here north of Toronto (Canada), is now gone, if you want me to send you 2ply or 3ply TP buddy, i can send you as much as you want;)
Did some thinking.....
Funny that wipping your ass is defiantly more important than washing and drying your hands from this Chinese virus:unsure:. Saying that, you could always get paper towels and Kleenex. As long as you flush a lot you could always use them as alternatives, and will be a bit softer on your keester...
The question i have asked others... What percentage of stuff you have accumulated have you really watched??
I started a while back upgrading a bunch of stuff to 720p or higher, and i can tell you that i am not using more space because i end up deleting shit that i know now that i will never watch:).. And i am talking stuff i downloaded years and years ago and really forgot i even saved it:whistling....
Really i have gotten back Terra bytes of space upgrading, the only problem is it is a pain in the ass going through all the shit!!!...
Other than having great menu/sorting feature Plex sucks shit on muxing/streaming original quality rips, it downgrades them be it picture quality or sound.. Again there is some better programs out there that work better out there that don't do that to playback....
Ya :D
Attachment 184468
That's not my experience. Everything streamed on my local network is set to play in original quality; if PLEX can direct-play the file format and doesn't have to transcode it's as good as it gets. x264 is not a problem, which is also part reason why I stay away from x265.
Streaming outside to my phone or to friends with guest accounts gets downgraded to 720p (streams original quality if it's 720p or less). So far nobody has been complaining.
If you are happy with it Cabby, i am not knocking it for users, it always depends on your setup right?? I have been tinkering with a few different internal streaming programs, Plex does not keep the original file format and play it, Do you have a surround sound setup to test that?? Or have you tried any other program to see the difference?? Chances are no, and i don't blame you because you are happy with and how it operates:). Try pushing a true BD rip (50-80gigs), and see what it does?? It won't work properly especially the sound sampling..
Emby is far better and still is UMS and there is a few more as well , but the problem with all of them, they don't have the same indexing screens/setups that Plex has..
Again it just depends on what you have in a setup and what you are looking for?? I would never say it is not a good starter program that is easy to use and gives and average person a great experience. But it is not the greatest for upgraded sound systems or broadcasting true 4k images?? And really it is nice that they do send out frequent upgrades and bug fixes. I still don't have it running the way i have others in my house ;)..
Maybe my post came across that the program is bad Cabby, that is not my intention, but i will say it is not the best for true surround setups, that's all..
Really you could talk to multiple people and they are looking for different performances of there equipment, and if you put a true 4k video vs a 1080p and your sound setup be it Atmos or DTS or Dolby 7.1 (THX) etc vs say tv speakers or sound bar??. Plex is not the program for it....
Um... I have a 4 TB Seagate external drive that's barely 50% full... and I have already assumed I won't finish dealing with all the stuff in there within my lifetime :emo:
4TB? That's barely 650 movies. I could watch that in a day or two. ;)
You wrote "NAS" I Googled in "RAS" (forgetful to the max!)... so Cab is a fish farmer too I thought... and though I knew round had a higher environmental
threshold... I though it was just hip to be square like mine...

See what a miss spent youth gets you? Then I looked at your post again... oh my ... MY memory is getting stressed lately! :frusty:
Umm... actually mine were just big coffin liners. They fit better that way. :yup:  "Inner calm of my filter..." "..made of dirt...' i LUV THIS GUY! ;)
Right now Anon, i can honestly say i am deleting shit off my drives (20TB just replaced/upgraded to 4TB drives)just as much as i am downloading. Funny i had so many TV shows that were cancelled with cliff hangers, or didn't make the cut, let alone how many pilot episodes, so basically tons of separate folders with one episode in it!!!...It does really amaze me on how many good shows (or at least i thought), never got to a second season...
The same with movies, seriously, some shit that i can't believe i kept:wacko:..But funny i didn't find any Anime :D..
The truth i do have more than half of that 20TB empty...
If you have accounts on a good private tracker or NZB index, and even if you don't, it's easy to download tons of stuff and delude yourself into thinking you'll watch/listen to/read/play it at some point in the future. I stopped doing that around two years ago, after realizing I was never going to catch up that way. Now I just write the works' names in a text file as a to-do list of sorts. Accomplishes the same results, but is easier, faster and uses up less disk space! Also, I have like five or six of those text files, which may or may not mean something.
shaina, you've got a gigabit line and more than 10 TB empty... run an ownCloud and charge a small fee for access... great business opportunity right there :smilie4:
Ok real time, we both know that it was a joke, but still even the thought of having the ability of watching multiple screens at the same time, i really can't see any enjoyment or purpose??
Attachment 184470
Here is something to think about.....
You claim to be a speed reader, truth Anon my wife and son are as well.. A question i never asked them?? i know say in my wife's perspective she prefers to read a paperback book vs say reading a screen or some sort of electronic device, do you feel the same??
Now my son also listens to pod casts etc, but sill prefers reading an actual book for personal enjoyment...
Interesting thought Anon, and you know i am always open to grow my portfolio:)
But thinking i have to share my bandwidth with strangers kind of turns me off that sales pitch;), and really how cheap it is to get secure cloud storage from the big boys?? Is it really worth it being a small potato ??
I never really thought about it, or at least found one highly desirable over the other. If I have a de facto preference for electronic books, it's because they don't use up additional physical space and are easier to copy :chris: Some people complain that looking at a glowing rectangle tires their eyes... set the brightness and color temperature to the lowest you can comfortably deal with (mine are 34% and 2300K) and it's all good.
Who said anything about strangers? Your customers could be existing liaisons looking for secure, trustworthy Canadian data storage. Ain't just what you got, but also how you show it :P
A lot of people here split the monthly cost of Internet access in a similar manner... especially in areas where there's little competition and providers charge whatever they want.
