A little information is a dangerous thing. See, your buddy capped the most important middle-class deductions in his tax-deform. So property taxes can now only be deducted up to $10,000 per year. Since Texas doesn't have an income tax and finances its budget schools through property taxes, I just wrote a big fat check in excess of $15K to Governor Asshat Abbott. Since I now can only deduct $10K, my tax payment at an assumed marginal rate of 25% just went up by $1,500.
Same thing for sales tax/income tax deductions.
Riddle me this, Batman: How does that help me and my fellow neighbors?

Ok i understand that issue on property tax that sucks!!! ,now, but is this applied to every state?? I am speaking of people that live in Florida and New York?? And I can tell you that One lady from Philadelphia actually moved to become a resident of Florida for the reasons of savings?? Is that false??
And Cabby i understand you are talking about property taxs, and it is not my business but lets assume you have merged that payment into a mortgage?? Again i am talking about a physical mortgage?? You can expense that on your taxes right??
And Are they not two different things?? They are here in Canada, and i do know you can apply your property taxes to a mortgage or you can pay them separately, some of my friends chose not to add it to there mortgage, something on how they charge interests?? I didn't really pay that much attention on the details??
Not sure how it works where you live vs other states??

Yes.
So you do think that people that have very good Health Care plans from there employer would give it up?? I think it is possible, but the plan would have to be equivalent to the care they offer from there employer plan?? And of course no expense out of there pocket:D
Be interesting on how anyone can figure out how to pay for it?? I can't wait to see the math:)

Seriously, for someome who Idol claims is rich you really have no clue about money. :D
Yes, since the tax deform applies at the federal level, everyone in every state is affected. And while you may now say, but what about states that don't have high property tax rates because they have a state income tax, well, those people may still get hit because of high property valuations (New York? Los Angeles? Odd that this hits predominantly the "coastal elites" who did not vote for Trump).
And you seem to be under the misconception that you can deduct your mortgage payment. You can deduct the *interest* you pay on your mortgage, that's all. It doesn't matter if you combine your tax/mortgage payments and who you pay the money to, for tax purposes you still have to separate the two and are limited to those specific amounts. Your mortgage payment goes to your bank; your tax payment (ultimately) goes to the government. Two completely different things if you think about it.

Maybe someone from the UK should explain to you how the NHS (for better or for worse) provides universal health care to cover the basics and people still have the option to purchase additional insurance/benefits from private corporations like BUPA.
Since the additional coverage does not have to cover the basics, they are (or at least were when I lived there) relatively cheap.

Are you trying to make fun of me buddy:)
What do you need to know about money to be rich:unsure:, and i don't do my own taxes i pay an accountant to do it;), and someone else controls investments, and as long as i am making money he still has control and a job. And i didn't say i was rich did i ??
And just having common sense and knowing most mortgages are amortized over many years no?? In Florida and you become Homestead, most of them never pay there mortgages off because they get a break on there interest rates plus amortizations are longer , interest adds up and if you do have a mortgage it is nice to have any taxable savings no?? Canadians can't benefit from that, if you think what idol did say most people do have large mortgages here, to live in local areas starting at a million dollars and most people owe half of that, so five hundred thousand dollars, and writing off the interests on that would be a bonus to people here. And i am thinking a million can buy a few houses in places in the US no??. Plus your gambling earnings and losses as well. There is a few companies you can hire here that go after our deductions your Government takes off of us, and of course they take a fee, but it is worth going after at times.
I am sorry Cabby that i didn't explain my thoughts better to you, And if you save your money for home taxes and put it in the Bank as opposed to adding it to your mortgage you save the interest no?? To me if you borrow money you normally have to pay interest?? If you short term invest and collect interest isn't that more beneficial:D, and my friends that do add there home taxes to there mortgage because there actual monthly payment is less but they are paying more interest, is that wrong??
I am not sure how they assess your property taxes there either?? Here they use the running front lot footage and use a mill rate?? And it is fucking crazy how much we pay here compared to the US!!....

So you are talking in a sense a 2 tier system, Again that is not what the Democrats are speaking of they are saying FREE HEALTH CARE, so zero cost to all Americans for everything?? I can tell you we do not get that here!!, you break or sprain your leg you need crutches you pay, need to take an ambulance to the hospital you pay, you want or need non generic drugs you pay, want entertainment or room other than ward you pay, so what do you consider basics??
And as i said if you have a good job and your employer is paying for you to get preferential treatment health care they ain't going to give it up, and i know some of those have a stupid minimal deductible.. and does free health care include medications?? Here good jobs employer gives medicine plans as well as dental, I never hear if dental or optometrist are included in there plans as well??
Funny i am not sure how you immigration works with benefits?? I can tell you people on welfare or family benefits or new immigration here gets all of those things for free Dental, Eyes, Hospitalization, equipment, and the working or wealth taxes pay for that the way our system is set up..
Like i said Cabby will be interesting if someone ever gets voted into the White House that will implement this, The new Democratic Climate change/Environmental package i saw on the news looked very interesting too, I was thinking you could use the methane concept for fuel and strap the senate leader from Hawaii to a rocket and she can fly home like a circus clown, that is considering they are talking of eliminating planes:), she may have some stop over crash landings for it being a distance from Washington to back home, but they will figure something out to soften her landing..
Lets see how long it takes for the attacks back Tic Tok Tic Tok........
Re: Last one to post wins the internets
People shouldn't be able to purchase additonal health care on top of what the government provides as gives a certain class less incentive to insist the government program is the best it can possibly be. That and money alone shouldn't ever determine who lives and who dies. I mean I kinda hope we've progressed as a society a teeny tiny bit from Ancient Rome.

That's like saying who you know shouldn't influence or move you up in the line for care, MRI , CT scan?? And we know that true right, and never happens regardless of self wealth or faith or gender:noes: I am not sure what "ism" that falls into Idol??
Funny i remember having to wait for a government scheduled CT scan that was 8 months , but one visit to my Urologist it happened to get done within 2 days, and no bribe or money exchange, or even a round at one of his favorite golf courses. It Happen, just from personal charm and extreme patient pain!!. And funny it would have been done in one day, but there is no staff in the hospital that runs CT scans at night so i had to stay in the Emergency for 28 hours until the next day to get it, And lets not mention how long you have to wait for a bed to open because if you are not admitted no operation, if you want to do it as a outpatient, it will take months!!!, now ask why some people are addicted to opioids. The same with no scheduled surgery on weekends unless it is life threatening!!, and extreme pain is not consider life threatening, and the operating room sections are massive in the hospitals i have been into, and most of the time empty, because not enough OR nurses!!, and scheduled operations must be completed before 4Pm because again not enough nurses?? So when a OR schedule is made if a time est surgery goes over the time you will be bumped for the next day!!! Amazing on how many Canadians that graduate to become a nurse move across the US because it is easier to get a job there, yet Nurses are needed here big time in our Hospitals!!!!! Gov says not enough money in the budget to pay them!!
But i do know that in the US MRI's and CT scans have better hours and if you have a good job and paid health insurance , you don't wait 8 months to get one there, I am thinking with Socialists Health Care , those people just can't wait for it to happen:unsure:, Even know, and i sincerely say that is not fair to the rest, it is reality..
Here is a something to think about?? Say Idol someone from another Country comes here and has an emergency or accident?? And they go to a Canadian Hospital, they have to pay right?? So because they are paying big dollars with no Insurance (Or Use a Credit Card), do you think they are entitled to move ahead of the line of other true Canadian Citizens??
Another true story, My Mother-inlaw's blood went low in Florida one year, so she needed a blood transfusion, it was done the next day and costs three thousand dollars US, that needed to be paid up front. Now she had out of country insurance and got most of it back (not all) but she was treated right away in a private hospital, and she said it was unbelievable how the service there was amazing compared to here. I am thinking that if Americans do get paid insurance Health Care, i really don't think they will accept public/government run care if it is not the same treatment they have experienced... Just my opinion, nor saying i agree there should be double standards, a life is a life like you say, but when it is one of your own blood life's , you do think different. Really how many MRI's my wife got in the span she was in the Hospital, i can tell you for sure people got bumped because of it, and i do feel bad but.......
The same here try to see if a GP doctor here will take you on as a patient if you have multiple things wrong with you?? They don't, based on how the government pays them, they don't benefit monetarily, and are government salary capped.. The work around!! Open and own walk in clinics, pay new doctors x amount and take a piece of there gov cap greed again buddy:noes:
