To top it off, $20 is millionaire-tier money over there... you'd think they'd put on some effort.
I'm fairly sure the standard unit of currency in dion's country is goat.
Ah, commodity money.

Well, Plex made some change to their media scanners and actually require files to be named with S01E01 rather then 101, etc as part of the file name in order to be recognized and matched. And apparently any time you make a change in a folder (like adding a file), it affects all content in that folder, even if it was previously recognized and matched.
Can anyone recommend a program to batch rename files?
I'd recommend the mass renamer tool in Total Commander, but I'm already using that as my file manager in the first place... I wouldn't know about a standalone program.
I grabbed TC but it seems... complicated? How much of a learning curve?
In the meantime I grabbed this program here and found a serial that works... Has a few shortcomings (like navigating to the folders you want to process), but it does what I paid for. Well, you know what I mean. ;)
It won't work in Plex or others...
The same most of the well known Up-Loaders of NZB's always name it "S01E01" etc.. The problem with that now is the obfuscation!!, and if you don't set up your downloader program to extract and rename you have to change all of them...
It would be great if someone knows of a program that does do it, but the norm for me is always to manually Copy/Cut/Paste :idunno:
What i don't understand is that every say TV show has a different name or season, where is the conflict on Plex??
UMS reads all ways and sorts them accordingly, but it doesn't pretty them up or add info like Netflix etc....
The issue will always be if the name of different shows weren't added to the file?? or even an abbreviation of some sort to distinguish they are different...
Anon: Can you add more content with Total Commander to make it look pretty, and add info on the shows and stuff?? Or is it just a sorter ??
Truth, using all of those programs, do you really save time?? Again i could understand if you are talking about many many shows that you have to rename??
But doing it manually for only a few shows/season by cutting and pasting really doesn't take that long??
Now in the Future you only have to change the new ones right??
Again in all the years i have never seen a program that works great.. Doing it manually seems to have less mistakes and not that difficult.....
