I can't believe you're supposed to be knowledgeable about all things trivial and you don't know that ISP's have mirrors offering unmetered content to it's customers.

CNAME records are aliases for A records.
A DNS record can only be queried from the DNS server which holds the zone information. That'd be a listed nameserver for the domain.

What you're talking about is astraweb being happy for ISPs to serve their address up to any client who types in a request for a DNS query which when looked up, doesn't exist. Hence your stupid statement about CNAME records which don't exist.

This is effectively domain redirection via the DNS lookup system... astraweb are happy for ISPs to redirect lookups for non existent domains to their site.

It has fuck all to do with ISPs grabbing content.
It has fuck all to do with magical mirroring services.

It has fuck all to do with anything you've claimed.
