Thread: kazaa download

  1. #1
    Hi all

when I selected a file to be downloaded from 'search results' in Kazaa
the packet sniffing shows that a hash value goes from client to the
    supernode.
    its of the form
    "GET /.hash="
a 20 byte hash value follows.

how does the client get the hash value as well as other information of a file.

Is there any way to get the filename
and other information of a file requested for download?

    Thanks

The problem is, that a lot of users here have stopped using Kazaa and moved to newsgroupen and Bittorrent. Some have even been intrepid enough to venture onto my file-sharing servers..

You could try K-Dat to see the extra info in the *.dat file
    http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...roup_id=101567
