Thread: Help!!!

  1. #1
On now what is appearing to be really bad advice from a friend, I attempted to download Bearshare. I became extremely alarmed when it asked for personal info without even using it!

Being instantly on guard, I went to add/delete programs to get rid of it and I can't delete it! Any suggestions?

If this is file sharing - I want no part of it! Shortly after the attempted download and subsequent abort, my email has gone ballistic with more spam than the Space Shuttle has thrust!

    Any info? Thanks.....

In that order too, cause it makes perfect sense.

I think I can help you.

    OK ...ctrl+alt+delete

then look for bearshare in the task manager and then ..you first have to kill the function like.

    With me?
Then go to where you normally go to un-install-install software, try now to un-install the program...
...then log back here and let us know if that helped.

    Never liked Bearshare.

Might have a Trojan loader lodged in your key registry too.

Edit: but what do I know

I could take this opportunity to mention you could try SlavaNap/OpenNap filesharing which is spyware free and well...we all know each other. Safe secure and can bring you in touch with interesting connections. But of course that would be spam , so I wont.
