    press ctrl alt delete
or go to task manager and check that you dont have 2 firefox.exe's running
end process for both and restart firefox
    it should be fixed

ok youll have to delete your new profile (if you know which one is the old one)
and set the old one as default
see this page on how to do it

    1. Close Firefox completely (select File > Exit from the main menu of Firefox).
    2. Select Start > Run... from the Windows Start menu.
    3. Enter firefox.exe -profilemanager and press OK.

select your old profile - then mark "dont ask at startup"
    then start firefox
it should then be set to always run your old profile

    -----------------------------------

if it happens again in the future - simply kill both firefoxes in taskmanager

this is designed so you can have several different styles of firefox running for different people. diff bookmarks, settings etc
sometimes firefox crashes and yet still runs in the background (pain in da ass)
    kill process and your set.

To import bookmarks into a new profile etc simply goto menu-bookmarks-managae bookmarks-file-import-from file- then in your old profile folder (in application data/mozzilla- mark -bookmarks.htm and they will be imported

    shit im bored

    open firefox (new one)
    clik bookmarks in menu
    manage bookmarks
in the manage bookmarks popup clik file
    import
    mark from file

    goto C:\Documents and Settings\*YOUR USER NAME*\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\XXXXX.default
    in there you will find
    Bookmarks.htm
    mark it
    ok

if you cant see C:\Documents and Settings\XXXXX\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\XXXXXX.default
    then open explorer
    clik tools
    folder options
    view
    then mark "show hidden files"

    then try again

    or simply goto C:\Documents and Settings\XXXXX\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\XXXXXX.default
    copy bookmarks.htm to your desktop
then in file manager import bkmrks.htm from desktop

you will obviously have two XXXXX.defaults in your profile folder - so one of them contains the full bookmarks
