Ok I just recently purchased a new computer...

And I decided to just have my Friend completely build me a new computer from Scratch...

But now the new problem I have is ticking me off and my Friend can't resolve it either...

I bought a Router(Not Wireless) {D-Link DI-604} and it worked temporarily for like 30 minutes... And then my DSL died... and when it came back online... The 'Internet' Light wouldn't 'react/come active' and so then I plugged the Main Ethernet Cable back to my Computer and it worked just fine and then I REPlugged it to the Router and then ever since... I can't use the Router properly anymore... And I did everything the Manual says and all.. But I can't get the Router to work... So now I am just using my Primary Connection and the Router is just 'there' for 'Looks'..

So I don't know what the problem this time... =/

And I KNOW that I am not really providing enough information so if you need more let me know since I don't really know what else to give...

    Thanks.

try reseting the router and rewriting the firmware, if that doesn't take care of the problem send it back.....port probably fried.....

by reseting i mean to push in that little reset button with a paper clip or something for twenty second while the router is on, did you do that, and the firmware can be found at dlink site under support or in the router configuration pages under firmware will also get you there.....hollar back

    Uh oh...

Now for some reason my DSL is being gay... But then I think it is normal... On the other hand I have noticed that on my Logs for my ROUTER I Constantly get attacked by something called: Smurf Attack

Here is a View of it:
    Apr/01/2002 00:06:56 Smurf Attack Detect 192.168.0.1:8 192.168.0.1:0 Packet Dropped

So yeah... Is there a way to rid that? Because that I am SURE is killing my DL... Since whenever I do Speed Tests even at 192Kbps... I on average get BELOW 10Kbps(Which I know isn't right at all)

    So any tips on that?
