This is a good friend of mine, and she's so "vain" that she cuts herself to pieces. Yeah that's right she wants to be "attractive" SO BAD that she makes the task more difficult by scarring herself.



Oh look here another example...




Yeah it's all about beauty... Just look at how beautiful this girl is... She loves the fact that she's dying, that her hair is falling out, that she has to shave her body because she's covered in lanugo. Yeah she's so pretty, her teeth and nails are rotting away because they are constantly exposed to stomach bile.

Before you say that self-harm is attention seeking, Busyman, I would like to point out that for some people its a way of releasing unbearable internal pain and punishing youself because you feel worthless and not deserving of anything else. Also, the absence of feeling and numbness sometimes experienced by those suffering from mental illness can be very distressing and inflicting physical pain on oneself can remind you that you are real.

Its probably unfair to target Busyman when he hasn't commented on this yet, but he's annoyed me.

That fucking site is sick. It even has a dumbass motto that spouts words of encouragement. The people on the site are indeed sick are folks giving them therapy for what their underlying problem is or the anorexia?

Oh jeez STFU. I'm mostly talking about anorexia. Bulimics at least have some sort of logic to their "disorder". I said gotta go 'cause I couldn't finish. The bottom line is someone may do many different things due to trauma.

It's amazing that it's still culturally based yet it's a disorder. I disagree 'cause I see the shit to a lesser degree in women that already skinny but think they slim down (these folks are healthy though). You remove the glorification of the "model look" and anorexia is eliminated.

It may be trauma that triggers it like molestation or simply someone calling a woman fat but it's still laughable for the person to latch on to looking like a skeleton and thinking "I look great".

I actually I was initially talking about anorexia (hence the topic) then you generalized anorexia and bulimia together ('cause they involved eating) and then I touched on bulimia.

The bottom line isn't that that people may do different things in response to a bad event in their lives,

the bottom line is that these people have reacted in a certain way to their trauma, mental illness has resulted and they don't deserve ridicule.

Why 'cause they aren't hurting others? I'd give ridicule to a person that kills themself as a person that kills others. I think both are morons.
