You are arguing with PROFFESIONALS now. It didn't say THERE WAS a genetic link, it said THERE MAY BE. very different.


1. Anorexia Nervosa is a disease. This I think everyone has established by now except you.

2. The sufferer CANNOT help getting it, they may be predisponed to it, WE DONT KNOW, there havent been enough studies yet.

If you had suffered from real depression you would understand why its not a simple matter for ED sufferers to just sort it out. You have maybe been under stress or had difficulty coping with a hard time for a while but I doubt you've suffered from depression, the illness.

You inferred that depression, a mental disorder, was an illness - making a complete mockery of your previous assertions that anorexia (nervosa), also a mental disorder, wasn't an illness.

oh so you're basing this on your personal experience. how about we do mine, since yours was a girlfriend that didnt want you.

I was raped at the age of 11, i became extremely depressed and the self harm started then.

i was then moved from the states to england by my parents, i stopped eating because it was the only thing i could control. I didn't want to lose weight, but that's what happens when you dont eat. And it carried on like an addiction.

I would binge and purge because i felt disgusted with myself, because after a while i couldnt control my eating disorders, you think you have the control until it's to late and you realise you didnt have any control all along.
