People who are that insensitive will never change their opinions. They possess an inate inability to see from someone elses point of view bourne of stubbornness and arrogance. He who thinks he is always right will never see his own mistakes and will go on justifying what he does or says even though its obvious it may be wrong. Don't rise to the insults, its not worth it.

I would like to point out that I joined this forum before this thread was started, not because of it. I just couldnt keep quiet.

Busyman and your ilk, if you do not have the ability to see things through other peoples eyes, acknowledge they might be going through something which is causing them pain that you don't quite understand, but are able to feel compassion for them, then your personal relationships will always be a struggle. Unless you find somone who will consistantly bow to your opinions and will, which, lets face it, is the kind of
relationship you guys would want.

I'm surprised this thread hasn't been closed, and the serious posts moved over there to continue the discussion... That would have kept the juvenile element out of it.. Oh well..

@ tinkerbell....those insulting anorexics have already been shouted down in this thread. As far as I am aware, no one from here has owned up to the 'nasty' tub girl pics.

The thread has not been closed because it has provoked a very healthy debate despite the insults.

After having visited the FF forum myself though, I was very very disturbed at the comments encouraging further weight loss and find it appalling that a site supposedly to help victims of this dreadful condition would allow such comments to go un-moderated.

Sara, it's a support forum, not a recovery forum. There is a big difference. People support the people who already have ed's. Some of them may not want to recover.

That's the difference...so yeah some comments may be more "pro" than others. And generally encouragement of further weight loss is to a healthy goal weight.

Look at the bulimia section, most girls will advise others not to purge etc.
