Thread: Windows XP services and formatting

    I'm trying to format my external hard drive and windows keep telling me it was unable to complete the formatting. It seems one of the services required is stopped.
    Logical Disk Manager and Logical Disk Manager Administrative Service are the only ones I can think of and both are started.
    Which one have I missed?

    Finally managed to format it by deleting the partition and creating a new one.
    What I don't get is why WinXP was telling me about a missing service

    Anyway, it works and the topic can be locked/deleted/whatever our Modulating Overlords decide.
