the 6800gt has more pipelines to do the job and is a 256bit not 128 like the 6600gt. it was said that the 6800gt is 30% faster than the 6600gt. if you meant the 6800, then it's not much better than the 6600. otherwise 6800gt is better yes.

as someone else once told me, the 6600gt is fine for gaming, but in the end you'll have to upgrade as newer games put more strain on things.

the 7800gtx is godly, the highest resolution still see's figures near 100fps. while the competition is stuck down around 40fps. insanity.

but I haven't seen twice the performance
I'm thinking of taking mine out and shooting it

the 6800 gains about 14fps over 6600gt anyway.
