fifa 2004 controller configuration problem?

I have logitech wireless rumblepad 2 and i can configure the bottons in fifa2005 and euro 2004. but for some reason i can't configure them in fifa 2004 (although it is working but the bottens are not setup as i want them to be.

any advise on this?

The control configuration part of Fifa 2004 was buggy as hell. Any attempt to reconfigure the keys would see them revert back to their original configuration after a time and EA didn't bother releasing a patch to correct it.

So at a guess I'd say it was the game's fault.
