    does this mean that i have a virus or a trojan or just to many applications taking cpus usage?

    i can't even get system restore to work

    Perhaps the very first thing you would want to look into would be the your exact CPU useage given your normal routine. Do what you normally do. Open the taskmanager to the "processes" tab. If your CPU is running consistently high, your will be able to detect which processes is causing the slowdown and respond to it accordingly.

    Posting your system specifications would not be a bad idea either so that others on the board could have more to go on to help.

    its all sorted, it was bit defender messing with my comp uninstalled it and a few things aren't quite right yet but it is generally o.k now, thanks for your suggestions
