when i try to play the movies i download no matter what program i use
it says the file is not supported. it shows as an avi. file
im not sure what to do any suggestions

Have the movies completely finished downloading?
Look at the file name, is there an exrension after the .avi such as btf, bcf, etc?
What program are you using to view the movie?

try to download klite codec pack, install it, and run movies in bsplayer.

Download and install klite mega codec pack and also get videolan to view it with.

Try downloading vlc media player and playing it in that, vlc generally plays anything - it even plays tennis! That's a lie!

Erm. Maybe this isn't codec related.
There's a file locking function in most bittorrent apps that will prevent other programs to access the file while it's downloading.
edit: I see Skizo already has asked if it had finished dling. Has it?
