I think the concept of most women being half way gay, busy, is a male fantasy rather than a female reality. There is nothing sexual about hugging another woman, we are more comfortable with physical expression than men. We don't think, "oh, can't hug Vanessa for too long, she'll think I'm gay", whereas there is always an element of that when men express their emotion physically. Unless sports are involved.
