    It sounds much better and uses less resources

    That's true but it looks pretty shitty when it's turned down.

    BTW mine uses about 20-30% cpu while playing a song

    I just monitored mine while playing a song, and it doesn't seem to use any CPU usage. Either that's a false reading or it's really not usaing any.

    I had a moan on the winamp forums about the memory usage and it turns out its caused by giving a large static buffer to all songs in your playlist. they are creating dynamic buffers in version 5.12 so it should use less memory then the 2.x branch.

    not sure why its using so much cpu time though. i would do a clean install without any plugins and see if that fixes it.
