    Hi, i would like to edit a song. by this, i mean to eliminate the voice from the track. can anyone please tell me of the software that i would be able to use and how easy it would be if at all possible.

    Get Adobe Audition and use the Acapella feature, it's not that reliable though...Depends what channel the vocal is in.

    Removing the vocals from a song is very difficult, and almost impossible to do well.
    This is because when recorded in the studio, it is done on a number of tracks, and then during the mixdown when all the editing is finished, we "bump" it all onto one track before burning it to CD.

    So technically, it is impossible to do, although some programs such as Cool Edit Pro, and I think WaveLab have reasonably good vocal cut features.
