Can't Open *.png Files

I can open *.png files with NS and Opera, no problem there.
I updated Internet Explorer from version 5 to 6 (I couldnt open *.png files with 5 either).
Everything is up to date, any ideas what to do?

The PNG graphic format isn't widely supported in browsers atm.

Try getting SP1 for ie6.
Or, a reasonably advanced graphic editor, i.e. Fireworks, Photoshop etc.

I got SP1, I've always managed to open *.png files with IE before and I dont need nor I want a graphic program to open png files.

ok i was going to suggest irfanview, a realy small program that can open them.

What, exactly, happens when you try to open a *.png file with ie6?

This is one of the *many* reasons why I scrapped IE and got opera and k-meleon. IE sucks for png support use a different browser if possible.

Not much, no errors IE dosnt open up at all.

I use Opera most of the times anyway so no worries there....but I wanna know why I can't open *.png files with IE.

Wish I could help. But IE opens .png files fine for me.
