PSP Stuff

well im getting a PSP for christmas and i see loadsa people talking about downloading things for it from the internet, so basically what i wanna know is what stuff you can get and how it can be done?

the games that have been released are bloody £40 a shot... not on my wages lol

make sure its a 2.0 or LOWER (firmware)

because u can only download homebrew games and iso loaders for 1.50v. (you can downgrade 2.0 to 1.50)

just hope you will get one of these:
1.50()
1.51(upgrade to 2.0, then downgrade)
1.52(upgrade to 2.0, then downgrade)
2.0(downgrade to 1.50)

once u get to 1.50 then download Fastloader(iso loader) and download some isos' and thats it! (assuming you'll be getting a 1gb stick)

If you can wait then you might wanna look out for the Giga Pack. Sony are being assholes and are only selling it with 2 games this year, but next year you can pick it up on itself for about 215 quid. It's basically a Value Pack but it doesn't have a wrist strap, instead it has a USB cable, a stand for your psp and a 1gb stick already (not the crappy 32mb one).

If this pack came out earlier i definately woulda gotten it...damnit.

Yeah, but trust me, it sucks pure ass. I so desperately want a 1gb stick, but i have to wait till christmas...

U can also get a 4 gig hdd of the net for the price of the PSP but it also comes with a battery that lasts twice as long as the standard one.

You can get one for around 50 on ebay.

As for MP3s, yeah it plays MP3s fine (as well as ATRAC3 files, which are as far a i can tell exactly the same quality as the original file but smaller). It also plays videos (need to convert them to MP4 though), you can store/view pictures on it (can't remember file support, i know jpg for sure though).

As for the 4gb HD, i heard the load times are terrible compared to sticks, and it gets fragmented, and apparently the only way to defrag it is to reformat.

i reckon i would probably stick with the memory sticsk for now rather than the 4gig hard drive.

it even plays attrac does it, very nice.
