In proper Spanish yes, but when surrounded by several other languages or variants of Spanish, things kind of get jumbled up.

Such as in my area, Mexicans don't really speak Spanish, they speak Tex-Mex, a hodge podge of Spanish and English.

While esa may technically mean "that guy", it is another slang word for bitch.
