I use Music Library by Wen Software to catalogue my audio albums and mp3s. It has a very useful duplicate search that brings up a results window with tag, bitrate, length and other information so you can decide what to do with potential dupes - delete, rename, or whatever.
It ain't free though, unless you know where to go.
