yeah haha i found em right after i posted
anyways i got everything installed its all working good, plus no burning smell, thats the best satisfaction

now im trying to boot the mobo driver disk
but for wierd reasons i cant use it, first
the cd rom is being detected as second, i dont know why
(i dont have any jumpers in and it is connected tip to tip on the ide ribbon)
also
the hard drive is not being recogognized, its saying no harddrive, do i need an ide harddrive?

i messed around with some settings and then it recognized it! but it said something about my mobo not supporting some sort of setting, what raid should i put it on i put it on stripping or something i think. helpzor pleasezor

How many and what type of drive are we talking about here?
Do you want them RAIDed?
If so, what kind?

i only have one of those harddrives and i want to put xp on it, and i want that to be the only drive in the computer. how do i do so

With the nf4 chipset you shouldn't have to do anything special whilst installing the HDD.
Hook up drive (data/power), install XP disc and boot to it.
Install as normal.

Where this gets confusing is when RAID enters the story.
Windows would not even think of RAIDing on it's own and with only a solo drive I can't figure out where the option is even coming from....

well it wanted to read the drive as a raid drive so i turned that off in the bios, but now in order to install the drivers since it wont read the disc, do i have to use a floppy drive and use the floppy disk drivers?or can i just install it later

I'm surprised clocker never told you to install the SATA drivers for Windows from your floppy.
