Busyman only posts three :lol: smilies at the end of one of his sentences to intimate to the reader that he is laughing while he is typing the words he is thinking about, since to intersperse his prose with :lol: smilies would be fucking stupid.
I paraphrase.

Well actually not anymore, but I used to be. I played every day down the local welfare club. We had the best team in the area, 53 registered players (were allowed to play in competitive matches). Hadn't been beaten at home for 5 years, league or cup.
I really was a shit hot pool player in me youth.
