I have Resident Evil 4 for ps2. I got the Burger release. It is the Pal version with a Ntsc/Pal selector.

Since it is a PAL game, none of my NTSC cheat devices will work on it.

So, I'm getting the NTSC version of the game.

My question is do you think my original game save (from the PAL version) will be able to be loaded by the NTSC version, or will be get corrupted?

    no.

i had that same release, and then i bought the game, and the game would not recognize the gamesaves from the burger release. nothing will get corrupted, it just wont see the gamesaves.

Ah. I did a little more research on it and this is what I found for those who are intrested

It won't even recognise it... on the memory card, games are saved into folders based on the slus/sces file name on the disk... you can usually find the number on the side of the disk case. the NTSC and PAL versions of games have differetn number/4 letter extensions, so it doesn't even recognise the save in another region
As for using cheat devices (Ie gameshark, action replay, etc.)
Those cheat devices don't work because of PAL/NTSC selector. Cheats don't work because they alter specific regions in the memory (that's what those codes mean, memory address, and new value of it), and when game has loaders, like cheat (older PSX games had those pretty often) or PAL/NTSC selectors, memory map of the game is altered (shifted), and memory location, for i.e. money, is shifted from it's original position and codes don't alter what they should.

The point is, if you want to cheat don't use games with PAL/NTSC selectors , regardless if it's originally PAL or NTSC.
