its all to do with the e-mail address you signed up as, check out mess.be for more info on messenger. im sure that trick is there.

Hey is there a way to delete the recent users list in msn messenger ?? Its really ennoying

There, you will have the option to register an existing e-mail address for a .NET passport or create a new @msn.com or @hotmail.com e-mail.

He's right, theres no trick to it, you just use an e-mail address you already have instead of signing up for a Microsoft one.
There are drawbacks though, I don't think Messenger will alert you when you have new mail if you use a private address.
