i recently installed office xp on my system...the 404,602 kb version......no service pack installed just basic stuff.....now every time i start up normally...my system reboots.....just out of the blue....i can be connected to the net....it reboots....i'm not connected...it still reboots...no particular timing...i could also be playing a game it reboots.......i checked to see how much RAM i had free....i had between 40-45 MB free...i normally had 70-80 MB free on start up so i checked for viruses...none...with norton and trojan remover...went through the registry from top to bottom...stilll nothing.....i uninstalled office xp ...it still happens...what do i do????

RIGHT CLICK MY COMPUTER AND CLICK ON PROPERTIES
THEN GO TO START UP AND RECOVERY AND UNCHECK AUTO REBOOT

ITS THAT SIMPLE THAT SHOULD FIX IT

Ragzinc... post what the error code is. I'm just curious because i recently had a similar problem, along with a couple of my friends and my parents. I think it might be klez related but have done a search for klez files using symantecs klez removal program. I think that there's a new strain of the virus out right now.

what is auto reboot supposed to do exactly?
    what purpose does it serve?
mine is turned on and this never happenned.
it's only supposed to do it on a system crash so if it's rebooting then something is still wrong
