    Paris - not as romantic as you think - driving is great
    Amsterdam - has it all
    London - morgages, road constructions and underground (+ some irish)
    Madrid - only lacks the sea
    Brussels - Looks like Paris but seems to miss something
    Swansea - good surf
    Kitzbuhel - better in the summer
    Venice - only when theres the Art Bienalle
    Berlin - everything but requires a certain taste
    Firenze - cute but speedy
    Stockholm - better than Oslo (doesnt say much)

    Antwerpen beats Brussels.
    Barcelona is better than Madrid.(also in football...)
    Lago Maggiore is really romantic....in a kind if 50's style.....
    Kopenhagen is cute...
    Brighton.......
    Porto is more Beautiful than Lissabon.....
    Istanbul is a lot......
    Prague is beautiful but boring.
    Petersburg is more fun than Moscow.
    Bucharest has the most gorgeous girls in the world.....
    Best canary island is La Palma.
    Berlin is tha Bomb!!!
    Edinburgh has the Fringe festival!!
    Laren has the best cafe in the world!!!

    how often you go there?
    i wont be back for xmas but it would be a funny place to meet - i thought you lived miles from there?

    I lived in Laren for four years, when i worked at Hoog-Laren en de Stichtse Hof.

    Het paard was my second home.

    It lost some of it's charm when the previous owners left, though....

    Nowadays i come there when i am in the neighborhood; a lot of my friends

    and customers live in 't Gooi....

    And btw., i only live about 25 km. from laren......

    hmmm.... my parents live there
    i feel a future visit is vital
    but not until sometime next year

    i have only been in the place twice - would add new dimension to "family visits".
