Hi, Selling a phone on ebay, man emails me saying he wants me to close this early as it is necessary for him to buy it now. offered him 100 quid. he replied bacn in bold text saying he will send me gbp 250 so he can send it to a friend in nigeria (wrote that in capital letters). He is asking for my name and shipping address, seems too good to be true and i'm sure i've heard something like this before.

The scam works like this: You give him your name and address, then when you are out he moves his entire family into your house and changes the locks. The only way to regain your house is to throw a hula-hoop over the chimney.

you send him the phone and he doesn't pay.

some guy tried to rip them off by saying the package was worth thousands. meaning the guy at the other end paid hundreds tax. funny at the time but the guy who did it hasn't been seen since
