I disagree. I reckon it has taken over the show, and there are about a dozen pop culture references per show. I see it as filler for the proper jokes, it must be hard to fill 20 minutes after all.Seth presents this stuff in way that the show isn't focused on the references but presents in a passing-as-matter-of-fact way that just goes along with the show.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force = Intelligent kid that smokes way too much weed.
See? By this highly scientific manner you can see that there is not a genius amongst them. Though they all seem to be pretty clever.
