I'm getting my brother's laptop, which I'm going to format and put XP on...Now, on my main PC I have a pirated version installed by the guys that put together my PC so I also have an unopened copy...Can I use this copy on the laptop, and if something happens to my main PC that requires a reinstall, could I use the same version on that one?

An unopened copy? Is it a copy or an original?

Anyway... If you have an official CD of XP, it can only be installed on one PC. You need the installation key and you have to activate Windows after the installation.

Why don't you install the same version you currently have on your PC onto your laptop?
