Cheapest US shop For PC Components?

Hi all,

Who is the cheapest US online vender for PC components in the US? I found http://www.monarchcomputer.com and they seem to be the cheapest around. Where you you guys buy your components from?

These are the specs that I'm going to buy this week,

Newegg. But use Pricewatch.com to find out specifically for your parts. Although I wouldn't spread my business around too much. Maybe 2 shops at most. Don't forget to add in s&h. And if the shops in your state tax will be added.

nice lookin, but let clocker give you some advice about the RAM
can't remember what the issue was with those gigastix, but you may be better w/ 4x512MB

nice HDD, I have one myself
S.M.A.R.T. reports mine as hotter than hell (50-53C)
but thermistors report it as just fine (30-33C)
so don't have a coronary, as I did, if you install Everest and it reports a meltdown

haven't actually been up close & personal with Thermaltake PSUs

Please disregard the following paragraph.
Apparently Mushkin has replaced the power whore EPs with a less demanding version.
Is yours the Mushkin designed to run at 3+ volts?
If so,make sure the motherboard supports the higher RAM voltages.
I think Mushkin also asks for active memory cooling with these.

I've never tried the stuff (athough the DFI board does offer the increased volts) so I've no idea if they are great or not.

pricewatch can get unsiderable results sometimes. I remember looking for a ATI Radeon 9500 Pro about 4 years ago and the 9500 Pro links kept going to pages with "9500" or "9500 Pro off brands with half the pixel pipelines".
I was looking for an official ATI Retail 9500 Pro and never found one untill I used Newegg.

That reminds me, computer price changes are annoying. I spent $200 on that puppy then, and now we are here 4 years later and you can find em for $50) $300 can get ya a card 6 times faster too.

Who is the cheapest US online vender for PC components in the US?

Shopping by price alone can be a big mistake.
In case of a problem, after sales service becomes important also.
RMA policies, speed of order processing and physical condition* of the parts are all intangibles that matter at least as much as price alone.
Newegg is excellent, as is Performance-pcs...I'm sure there are others but I've not dealt with them personally (Tiger Direct, Monarch, etc.)


*One of our distributors is notorious for shipping parts that look like they crossed the ocean in the bilge of the ship...crumpled/flattened boxes, visible water marks and the like.
