    When I connect this device, I hear two dings as if I'm putting it in and then quickly taking it back out. This happens on all six of my ports. How do I fix it? Thanks in advance.

    What OS?
    What device?
    What specs does the computer have?

    OS - Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
    Device - Xbox controller adapter
    Specs:

    Dell Inspiron 9300
    Intel Pentium M Processor 1.73 GHz
    1GB of RAM
    Nvidia GeForce Go 6800

    Is anything displayed on the screen?

    Does the device appear in the Device Manager?

    Does the device function? (You didn't mention if it does or not).

    Do other usb devices do the same thing? If so , then the main root usb hub driver could be bad or just gay. Then you would need the chipset disk for the mobo to reinstall them or just use device manager to update them. Yes I know....adding the "or just gay" part is spammish, but Im 95% spam free.....so Im good The only reason I chimed in on this is because I just had to do this on one of my pcs

    The two beeps (low-note, high-note) signify that a usb device has been connected.

    The other two beeps (high-note, low-note) signify that a usb device has been disconnected.

    If you are simply complaining about the noise, you can change them in control panel/sounds - look for Device Connect and Device Disconnect.

    The one you need to worry about is three low notes, that means "device failed to connect".
