This is interesting.

I've noticed a trend.

Young folks (who may not know better) and foreigners always root for the "so-called" underdog which is cool but want the top dog eliminated.

Many non-business people on here don't like M$ but can't really explain how they've been harmed by them.
Now folks don't like Intel.

Don't get me wrong. It seems AMD chips are faster at the same price point as Intel chips but why the frack would you want AMD's main competition gone....so you can have another Intel with a different name?

Check the noggin, folks and stop being fanboys.

The whole point is keeping one company in check with threat of using another company.

that is an even worse sign to an already low stock price.

well, you can't really say Intel has a low value, unless in comparison
they've been riding, pretty much, an even keel, which is actually good I suppose

but they're not gaining either, while AMD has more than doubled it's own value
that's something that catches poeples' attention,
no matter how much the Intel sect may try to down play it

the whole point of this wasn't to root for the demise of Intel
(that, as Busy said, may not be for the best
competition motivates, makes people/companies strive to do better
no Intel maybe = AMD getting complacent)

To give an example, if Intel's stock was $300 a share for 1 year straight, all that means is 0 growth for stock holders for a year.
