My friend installed a 300gig sata drive in his comp the other day and we formatted it in control pannel. In My Computer the drive is fine and we have put data on it, but when we try to run the windows cd and install it on sata, it wont detect...any ideas? thanks

Press F6 when windows setup says press f6 to load third party raid drivers, then insert floppy with sata drivers on it (comes with mobo).

alright thanks rossco. I asked matt about that and he was like i already did that and it just asked me which drives to link together. I guess we will try that tho, thanks!

Are you trying to RAID these drives or what?

Make sure if its the only sata drive that you connect it to the first sata connector on the motherboard and in the bios be sure to set your boot to sata/raid or scsi/raid or what ever. If your going to load Windows on it the data you put on in your computer will be wiped unless you partitioned it and put the data on a second partition that hopefully you'll be able to recognize by its size or the fact that it has data already.
