lol. hehe, i guess its kinda like when u update software on ur comp, just same thing. upgrading the mobo's software,

flashing the bios (which is basically removing all data from it's memory and starting from scratch is pretty dodgy, and is therefore not recommended for the average user)
updating on the other hand, which is just putting in newer data is a lot safer
you may want to update your bios to add support for usb2.0 or to add lan supports, however, you probably shouldn't do this unless you need to
why do you feel you need to update the bios?
have you been told to do it, or are you just curious?

it just adds more support and stuff..dont do it unless u need too...

if u mess up, it's pretty hard
